Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how TenantSentinel LLC (“TenantSentinel,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use kinevents (the “Service”). We built kinevents for families, and we treat your family’s information with care. We do not sell your personal information.

1. Information we collect

• Account information: the email address you use to sign in (sign-in is passwordless via magic links / one-time codes).
• Calendar content you provide: events, titles, dates/times, locations, notes, member names and colors/emojis, and the names or emails of family members you add or invite.
• Imported feeds: if you connect a calendar feed (e.g., a Google Calendar or other iCal/ICS URL), we fetch and display the events from that feed.
• Location for weather: if you enter a ZIP code, we convert it to approximate coordinates to show local weather.
• Payment information: handled by Stripe, Inc. We receive limited billing details (such as your subscription status and customer identifier) but we do not store your full card number.
• Technical/usage data: standard information such as IP address, browser type, and basic request logs used to operate and secure the Service.

2. How we use information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Service (your calendar, feeds, weather, and holidays).
• To authenticate you via magic-link / one-time-code sign-in.
• To process subscriptions and billing through Stripe.
• To send you service-related emails (sign-in links, invitations, and important notices).
• To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

3. How we share information

We share information only as needed to run the Service:

• Service providers: Stripe (payment processing) and our email delivery provider (for sign-in and invitation emails). These providers process data on our behalf.
• Within your calendar: content you add is visible to the members you invite to that calendar. Calendars are private by default; you may optionally make one public and read-only.
• Legal reasons: if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or us.

We do not sell your personal information or share it for third-party advertising.

4. Cookies and local storage

We use only what’s needed to keep you signed in and make the app work — for example, an authentication session and a small amount of browser local storage (such as remembering your sign-in email). We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

5. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account/calendar is active and as needed to provide the Service. If you cancel, your calendar becomes read-only; you may request deletion of your data as described below. We may retain limited records where required for legal, tax, or security purposes.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including private-by-default calendars, access controls that limit calendar data to invited members, and encryption of data in transit. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

7. Children’s privacy

kinevents is designed for parents and adults to organize their household. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Information about children (such as a child’s name on an event) is entered by the adult account holder, who is responsible for that content. If you believe a child has provided us information directly, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live (including under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act and, where applicable, the GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email [email protected] and we will respond as required by applicable law. We do not sell personal information, so no “opt-out of sale” is necessary.

9. U.S.-based service

The Service is operated in the United States. If you access it from outside the U.S., you understand your information will be processed in the U.S.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
